A Big Project for a Big Day

I started scrapbooking the year after my husband and I were married. I always wanted to get around to putting together our wedding album, but the consultants always recommend to start with current pictures and move forward, only working on past photos when you're caught up or working on a special project.

I always said I'd get the wedding album done before our 10th anniversary. I now have 3 days.

I started working on it a few weeks ago, and I have a good beginning. This album will feature all the candid shots I have... when we got engaged, bridal showers, the rehearsal, the wedding, the reception and the honeymoon. It's going to be a big project - I definitely won't be done by Thursday.

But there's nothing wrong with giving ourselves deadlines. I have another all-day scrapbooking event in May, where I'll get a lot more of it done... and at least I can see it coming together, which just gives me incentive to finish it!

I do have to say, I had a really hard time starting it. I wanted this one to be really good and so I was actually nervous about what each page was going to look like. I wanted there to be a theme to it, so it wasn't a hodgepodge of colors and styles. But all this did was slow me down. In the end, I already have a style and there's really no way around it. That's what makes it unique and what makes it mine... and what makes it homemade. It doesn't have to look perfect, it just has to be made by me, with love.

Happy 10th anniversary, sweetie!
